The EMERGE Conference is part of a multi-disciplinary project which includes print and digital magazines, an image arts exhibit, Instazine, and the EMERGE Media Awards.

The 2016 EMERGE Conference, presented by the University of Guelph-Humber’s graduating media studies students, will showcase compelling media professionals who will share personal stories of Breaking Barriers.

 

The event will motivate and inspire attendees to break their own barriers as they prepare to make the move from academia to their careers in the vast world of communications.

 

Now in its fourth year, the one-day EMERGE Conference brings industry experts together with aspiring media professionals through compelling speaker sessions and interactive panel discussions.

Each year hundreds of attendees flood the conference space to hear from a stellar and high-profile lineup of speakers. This year’s speakers include:

  • Ben Nemtin, from MTV’s “The Buried Life”
  • Michael Rizzi, from his YouTube channel “Mike The Platypus”
  • Stacy-Ann Pollydore, known for the documentary, “The Blind Stigma: Mental Health within the Black Community”
  • Colton Eddy, producer, writer, music journalist and content programmer
  • Jess Hunichen, entrepreneur and co-owner of Shine PR
  • Kevin Donovan, Investigative reporter and editor at the Toronto Star and author
  • George Pimentel, Canada’s most renowned celebrity photographer
  • Meaghan Ogilvie, photographer recognized for her unique concepts on our relationship with nature

No. Once you purchase your ticket, it will not be transferrable or eligible for a refund.

Yes! You will receive a sign up form from us within the next month to select the speaker sessions of your choice.
