Emerge 2022 is created by students, for students!
You’re probably wondering – what the heck is Emerge? Well, let me tell you: Emerge is a multimedia project created by the graduating fourth-year Media and Communication Studies (MCS) students at the University of Guelph-Humber. Emerge 2022 includes a print and online magazine, a podcast, an Instazine and a two-day multi-session media conference.

The Emerge Conference is the place to be for aspiring media and communications professionals, with the opportunity to gain insights from industry professionals about what it takes to succeed and land your dream job.
Emerge 2022: The Media Reset
My peers and I are stoked to display the valuable skills we have received at Guelph-Humber as we create a never-before-seen Emerge experience. Planning a conference with so much uncertainty in the world has had its challenges, but we are so ready. With the post-pandemic media landscape being a central theme, we want to provide up-and-coming media professionals with an inside take into this ever-changing industry.
This project allows the graduating class to gain real, hands-on experience with all streams of media while meaningfully collaborating with one another to produce a successful event. Go team!
Emerge 2022: The Media Reset will focus on the evolution of media and the media industry. The COVID-19 pandemic forever changed the way we use and consume media. We wanted to create this conference to display the current state of the media and to learn more from industry experts about the future of the media industry.
