Don’t get Burnt!

Matching tee-shirts. Ghost stories. Cabins and bunkbeds. Bonfire songs being sung slightly out-of-tune. The smell of bug spray, sunscreen and campfire smoke wafting through the air. That’s right – we’re going back to summer camp.

Hello everyone and if you’ve been here before, welcome back. Abby with you here today, back and better than ever with your next blog post. Join us virtually on March 30 to turn back the clock and re-live the nostalgia of going to summer camp with the Emerge Conference’s Media Camp. Grab your toques and coziest blankets to gather around the fire and hear campfire stories from your media camp counsellors – industry professionals!

Olivia Casale, social media coordinator for the Campfire Stories session team, explained to me the other day why this opportunity is so exciting, stating:

“The Campfire Stories session is unique because of its media diversity. We have guest speakers from four sectors of the media industry- fashion, sport, entertainment and music that will provide students with insight into the large and diverse media landscape.”

There’s no better way to network than with Emerge 2022’s Campfire Stories session. Spend time with all four camp “counsellors” and get the opportunity to ask those burning questions. Who knows, maybe you’ll meet another camper that you click with, and you can become pen pals to watch each other’s careers grow!

Take your pick of fashion camp, sports camp, entertainment camp, and music camp to learn the ins and outs of the industry from someone who is fully immersed in it. But how do I pick only one, you ask? Lucky for you at media camp you’ll get to hear campfire stories from all four counsellors (if they’re ghost stories, I’m out of here…).

So, who are these exciting, mysterious, and knowledgeable camp counsellors? You’ll have to check back to find out!

Ah, media camp, I can taste the hot cocoa already.

Abby, signing out.
